VALENTINE, James

1815-1880 Actif 1856 à 1894

Photographe qui étudie le daguerréotype à Paris dans les années 1840, en 1856 il ouvre son propre studio pour portrait à Dundee en Ecosse, un des plus grands d’Ecosse qui lui vaudra une grande rivalité avec George Washington Wilson d’Aberdeen. Au début des années 1870, seul puis avec une équipe de photographes, il sillonne la Grande Bretagne et en photographie les principaux monuments
